The Needle's Eye

"This story like a children's tune. It's grown familiar as the moon. So I ride my camel high. And I'm aiming for the needle's eye." - Caedmon's Call

A Weight Off My Shoulders

Well, it took many long hours, lots of tinkering, and a works cited page that is lengthy beyond belief. But my Paul research paper is finished and turned in. That by itself is a huge load off my back. Don't get me wrong; I did have fun with this paper. It was very interesting digging into Paul's character and trying to unearth new insights about it. But I'm glad it's done. Now of course begins the waiting process, made all the harder by the knowledge that our sole remaining grade in that class is the final exam. And it's a week after classes end. So many days to put it off...

But oh well. I'm not going to worry about it. With the conclusion of my research paper, plus a satisfactory grade on my second English report, I feel as though I've shed ten years. I walked with more bounce in my step on the way to Grammar class. I got to help Will with his Math-15 project involving "Suite Life" (I was Cody) and it was actually snowing a little bit! Yeah, it was raining at the same time, but we Southerners will take what we can get. I had a nice little chat with Hilary after L-Team meeting, and our family group Christmas party was marvelous. :) I allowed myself a night to relax, order some pizza, and watch Ernest Saves Christmas (a classic). All in all, this was the best Monday that I've had since the beginning of Fall Term. Ironic that it's now coming to an end.

Even more good news: my friends Dawn Snyder and Molly Kirk are coming home from Versailles, France, this evening! TNT tomorrow night is going to have a distinctly "homecoming" feel to it.

I have nothing to complain about right now. I'm sure that I'll eventually come back down to earth, and shoulder the weight of the world anew. I could waste time dwelling on the comprehensive final exam for Paul class or the fact that my English Lit grade is still in question, but why bother? God has guided me through every trial, every test of faith that has come my way; I'll trust Him for this as well. Meantime, I'm taking a night to savor the good. And I strongly advise you to do the same if you aren't already. Goodnight and God bless!
