The Needle's Eye

"This story like a children's tune. It's grown familiar as the moon. So I ride my camel high. And I'm aiming for the needle's eye." - Caedmon's Call

Tax Free Weekend

Whew...Tax Free Weekend might be music to shoppers' ears, but it just makes us groan at Chick-Fil-A. Since no taxes guarantees more customers, we were pretty much swamped from 11:00 until after 5:00 or so. Not that we aren't busy every day anyway, but a steady rush with no breaks inbetween really wears you out after a while. I ended up staying an hour later until the night crew for backbar arrived; we had truck order today, so everyone was running around trying to do ten things at once. To complicate matters, our electronic menu screen konked out on us, freezing up right in the middle of a rush that saw customers in lines stretching all the way back to the center court tables. Must have been uncomfortable for anyone who happened to be eating there at the time. So anyway, that gave us fits on the bar and we had to get the orders by word of mouth from the people on register. Eventually, we did get it fixed, so that's cool. I don't think I've drunk so much Sprite in my life...

Well, I really don't have much else to add about today. However, tomorrow of course is Chris & EA's wedding. So I'm eagerly looking forward to that. Given that I originally thought the date was Sunday, I wonder what else I might get mixed up. Who knows; maybe I'll end up taking a wrong turn just short of Concoxions Theater and I'll find myself in the town of Tigersville or something. Knowing my dratted track record, I wouldn't rule it out. :P

Song of the Day: Rich Mullins - "Awesome God"

Verse of the Day: "I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me - just as the Father knows me and I know the Father - and I lay down my life for the sheep." - John 10:14
